1. Overview
Schedio is a browser extension that converts highlighted text (and, on the Pro plan, spoken audio) into Google Calendar events. To extract event details, your input is sent over HTTPS to Schedio's own secure backend service, which uses Gemini (Google's Generative Language API) to parse it. Events you confirm are then created directly in your Google Calendar via the Google Calendar API. This policy explains what data is processed, how, and how you can control it.
Schedio does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
2. Information we process and why
- Highlighted text. When you create an event, the text you selected is sent to Schedio's backend, which uses Gemini to parse the event details. It is used only to pre-fill the event you review and confirm.
- Voice audio (Pro only). When you use the optional Voice → Event feature, a short audio recording from your microphone is sent to Schedio's backend for parsing. Audio is captured only while you actively use this feature and is used only to generate the event you confirm.
- Google account information. When you sign in, we receive your Google account identifier and email address (via your explicit OAuth consent) to authenticate you and to manage your Free or Pro plan.
- Google OAuth token. Used to create events in your calendar and to authenticate your requests to Schedio's backend. The token is obtained only with your consent via
chrome.identity. - Usage & subscription data. We store a monthly count of how many events you create (to enforce Free plan limits) and your subscription status (to provide Pro features). We do not store the content of your highlighted text or audio as part of your account.
- Account & billing data (paid plans only). If you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor handles your billing details. We never see or store full card numbers.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above solely to provide the Service: parsing your text or audio into event details, creating the events you confirm, enforcing Free/Pro plan limits, and processing subscriptions. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or AI model training, and we do not sell or rent it.
4. Third-party services and subprocessors
- Google Gemini / Generative Language API. Parses the text or audio you submit, into structured event details. Called by Schedio's backend, not directly by the extension.
- Google Calendar API. Events are created using your Google account via OAuth. Schedio performs write-only operations and does not read, access, export, or analyze your existing calendar events; it only creates a new event when you explicitly confirm.
- Cloudflare. Hosts Schedio's backend service and website infrastructure.
- Supabase. Stores your account identifier, monthly usage count, and subscription status.
- Lemon Squeezy. Our payment processor and Merchant of Record for paid plans; it handles billing, tax, and card data.
5. Data storage and retention
The text and audio you submit are processed only to generate the event you confirm and are not retained as part of your account. We retain minimal account information (your Google account identifier and email), your monthly usage count, and your subscription status for as long as you use Schedio, so we can run your plan. You may request deletion of this data at any time (see Contact).
6. Security
All network calls are made over HTTPS. OAuth tokens are managed by Chrome's Identity API and handled according to Chrome's security model. Server-side API keys are stored only as backend secrets and are never shipped in the extension.
7. Google API scopes
Schedio requests the openid and email scopes to sign you in and identify your account, and the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events scope solely to create calendar events that you explicitly confirm. The extension performs write-only calendar operations and does not read, access, export, or analyze your existing calendar events. Schedio's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Your choices
- Revoke the extension's access to your Google account via your Google account settings or by using the extension's "Switch Google Account" feature.
- Cancel a paid plan at any time.
- Request deletion of your stored account, usage, and subscription data by emailing us (see Contact).
